I hold a BA (Hons) in Social Science, BSc (Hons) in Social Work and the Professional Certificate in Effective Practice in Youth Justice. I am a registered Social Worker with the Health Care Professionals Council.
I am an experienced Youth Justice/ Children’s Services Practitioner, and have over eleven years experience of working with vulnerable children, young people and their families, in a local authority statutory setting. During the six years I practiced as a Youth Offending Team Officer, I was responsible for acting as a case manager for young people aged between 10 and 18 years old.
I have extensive experience in completing risk assessments, pre-sentence report writing and devising robust sentence, risk and vulnerability management plans for those young people who were assessed as low to high risk of further offending and risk of serious harm to others.
I have experience of working as an operational manager within a Children’s Services setting managing a team of Family Support Worker’s and Targeted Youth Worker’s ensuring that a highest quality of service is delivered.
I was trained in the G-MAP “Comprehensive assessment and intervention for young people who exhibit sexually harmful behaviours” in 2009 and more latterly the “Aim Assessment for Under 12’s” and have worked extensively within this field.
